Beware! Hotels Mau Have Bed Bugs

Bed-bugs have been uprooted on the soil of the United States immediately after the First World War because of the widespread use of DDT (which is now prohibited for use). But bed bugs are making a comeback. It can reach your own home if the check-in in a bed bug infested motel or hotel.

- Hotel infestations

Hotel bed-bugs are not uncommon. In fact, hotels and motels are ideal for hotel bed bug transmission. Immigrants who had lived in a country and place of the infestation of bed bugs are suspected of being the person that reports of bed bugs in the United States through their luggage. And, of course, is in motels, bed-and-breakfasts, guesthouses and that immigrants and international travelers living room and unpack their luggage with hitchhikers bed-bugs.

Once the hotel bed bugs infesting a single room, the hotel bed bugs crawl into the next room, create a new colony, and then crawl into another room, and then create another colony.

People have the wrong idea about their hotel bed bugs, they thought that the hotel bed bugs infest only those hotels and motels that are dirty. This is totally false. Hotel bed bugs I do not dwell on a site, because they are dirty (like cockroaches and rats), but because they are attracted to carbon monoxide (which humans exhale) and their human hosts from which hotel bed bugs withdraw blood.

So, this means that even the chic and posh hotel may have bed bugs.

** Common position of the hotel bed bug infestations

Bed bugs in hotels were reddish brown, oval-shaped (as appleseeds), and are very flat which allow them to hide and lay their eggs in small crevices. A small crack or hole can hotel bed-bugs port.

Bed bugs are nocturnal insects of the hotels. They feed at night and are generally more active an hour before sunrise. Some hotel bed bugs feed during the day, especially those who have not fed for several months. An adult bed bug hotel can last eighteen (18) months without feeding. Their regular feeding cycle (when a host is present) is five to ten days.

If you want to check the hotel for bed bugs hotel, go places where a human can remain, such as bed, sofa, chairs, carpets, furniture and closer to the bed. Check the crevices of these interiors including furniture and mattress seams and bed frames.

The edge of the bed and a mattress under it, are often the breeding ground for bed bugs hotel.

** Telltale signs of bed bug infestation hotel

- Heavy infestation have an offensive, sweet, musty smell.

- The edges of the upholstery or mattresses are brownish dark lines. These are the excrement of the bugs of the beds hotel.

- You feel itchy hour after sleeping on the bed and even after leaving the bed

- Hotel bed bug bites are itching of mosquito bites and the itch lasts for hours.

** Dimensions hotel bed bug infestations

If you have seen one or two bed bugs crawling hotel, this is an indication that the infestation could be heavy. Bed bugs in hotels were rare. But when you see bugs crawling hotel bed next to you, it means that there are many hotels and adult bed bugs are fighting on a single host.

- How to avoid bed bugs hotel hitchhikers?

Hotel bed-bugs are like hitchhikers, you hide your luggage and started farming on your house.

To avoid hitchhikers hotel bed bugs in your luggage to try these following tips:

- Buy a non-gel type of insect spray. Kind of gel do not last and can not kill the bed bugs hotel. The night before leaving your hotel room, on a non-gel spray insect killer on the bag luggage. Be sure to remove the clothes and other things first. Do not put clothes on the bed.

Clean the tub dry and put your things there. Hotel bed bugs will not try to race on splits bathtub because people usually do not stay there.

Some good advice here, thanks! I actually had bed bugs during my trip in south beach (which was awesome. Any there are some tips you left out. I really great way to prevent bed bug hitching is to get bed bug proof backs for your cloths and never put you luggage on room furniture before inspection. Sprays and gels are really hit or miss (usually miss). There a great resource at www.bedbugcentral.com in the travel section. Also, IF YOU FIND bed bugs. Don't be afraid to bring it up to management and demand a new room, they can't say no.
